Thousands attend popular Bolton music festival that showcases local talent
And over the weekend Bolton’s popular Made in Manchester returned to a record crowd.
The family festival was back for its sixth year at Bolton Arena and the rain stayed away for most of it.
The Made in Manchester festival featured tribute acts as well as some of the region’s emerging talent.

The concept started off in 2018 when organiser Rob Brierley wanted to raise funds for a local cricket club, and it has now ballooned into a yearly event.

He said: “I was really pleased, we got lucky with the weather, looking at the forecasts it was a bit dicey, apart from one torrential bit of rain.

“If I were to pick out a highlight for the day, it’s a tough one, but I’d say seeing all the young Bolton bands like the Radio Addicts, and seeing the following bands like this have been from around Horwich and other parts of Bolton.

“It was also nice to see all the returning tribute bands, everyone had such a good time, there were kids on dads’ shoulders, and loads of family sights like that.
“It was also great to support loads of charities with Andy’s Man Club and The Christy in Manchester.”
Celebrating the Manchester music scene, the festival featured tributes to iconic bands and musicians such as Oasis, James, The Courteeners, and Happy Mondays.
