Jack Dorsey announced his resignation from the post of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Twitter on November 29. Soon after, Indian-origin techie Parag Agrawal took charge as Twitter CEO. An alumnus of IIT Mumbai and Stanford University, 37-year-old Parag Agrawal joined Twitter in 2011 and exactly 10 years later, he has been appointed as the CEO of microblogging website.

Congratulatory messages have been pouring in for Parag Agrawal after he was appointed as Twitter CEO. However, a section of social media users reacted to the news with hilarious memes and jokes. After taking charge as the Twitter CEO, Parag Agrawal said in a tweet, “Deep gratitude for @jack and our entire team, and so much excitement for the future. Here’s the note I sent to the company. Thank you all for your trust and support (sic).”

Parag Agrawal moved to the US in 2005. He joined Twitter in 2011 when he was still pursuing his doctorate at Stanford. Twitter has revealed that as CEO Parag will be given an annual compensation of USD 1 million as well as stock compensation worth USD 12.5 million.
