Coronavirus: 8-month-old among two new Covid-19 cases in Srinagar

An eight-month-old child is the latest person to test positive for Covid-19, the disease caused by novel coronavirus, in Srinagar. The child is perhaps the youngest novel coronavirus patient in India.

On Thursday, authorities in Jammu and Kashmir said two new cases of Covid-19 have been detected in the Union Territory. Both the patients are siblings. While one is eight-month-old, the other is seven-years-old.

They are grandchildren of a person who recently returned from Saudi Arabia and tested positive for Covid-19 on March 24.

With the two new cases, the total number of people who have tested positive for Covid-19 in Jammu and Kashmir now stands at 11. All these 11 patients are active cases.
