‘Damage, theft, speeding’: Six recent cases heard by magistrates

Vehicle damage
A man was ordered to pay after damaging parts of a vehicle.
Nathan Dean, 34, indicated a guilty to plea at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates’ Court to causing criminal damage.
This was after causing £200 worth of damage to parts of a vehicle belonging to another man in Bolton on January 1 this year.
Dean, of Greenroyd Avenue, Bolton, was ordered to pay £200 compensation, with a fine of £233, costs of £85 and a surcharge of £93.
Identify driver
A man was ordered to pay more than £1000 after failing to identify a driver for police.
Nicholas Nederic, 25, was proved by single justice procedure at Bolton Magistrates’ Court to have failed to give information about the driver of a vehicle when asked by an officer.
He had failed to identify the driver of a Vauxhall Corsa on November 8 last year.
Nederic, of Melville Street, Bolton, was ordered to pay a total of £1044.
Speeding
A man was fined after speeding in Bolton.
Kristian Chiarelli, 33, was proven by single justice procedure at Bolton Magistrates’ Court of speeding on the A666 Blackburn Road, north west of Longworth Road on March 11 last year.
This was at 38mph, which was above the limit of 30mph,
Chiarelli, of Copster Green, Blackburn, was ordered to pay a total of £539.
Probation
A man ordered to pay after missing probation appointments.
Joshua Tobin, 28, admitted to Manchester Magistrates’ Court that he had missed appointments at Bolton Probation Office on December 12 and 17 last year.
This was in breach of the requirements of his post-custodial supervision.
Tobin, of Canal Side, Little Lever, was ordered to pay a fine of £60 and costs of £60.
Theft
A man was fined after stealing from a shop.
Jamie Holden, 45, admitted to Wigan and Leigh Magistrates’ Court that he had stolen around £49.70 worth of cheese from the Co-op on Winter Hay Lane in Horwich.
This was on November 7 last year.
Holden, of Nasmyth Street, Horwich, was fined £85 and ordered to pay costs of £85 and a surcharge of £16.
Drunk and disorderly
A man was fined after being drunk and disorderly in a public place.
Attila Gligorovics, 57, admitted to Wigan and Leigh Magistrates’ Court that he had been drunk and disorderly in Bolton.
This was on November 7 last year.
 Gligorovics, of Park Street, Bolton, was ordered to pay £40.
