Main road in borough closed after crash

Chorley Old Road in Horwich has been shut following a road traffic collision, police said at around 12.15am. 

Traffic system Inrix said the road had been sealed off from Bottom O’Th’Moor to Old Kiln Lane.

No further details about the nature of the incident have been released.

A police spokesperson said: “We are currently responding to a road traffic collision in Horwich.

“Chorley Old Road is currently closed as officers continue their investigations.

“It is advised to avoid the area at this time, thank you for your cooperation.”

An Inrix spokesperson added: “Chorley Old Road both ways closed due to accident from Bottom O’Th’Moor to B6402 Old Kiln Lane.”
