‘Obstructing police, driving, drug tests’: Five recent cases heard by magistrates

Obstructing police officer
A man was banned from the roads after driving without insurance and obstructing a police officer.
Dale Kay, 36, admitted to Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court that he had driven on Beamont Road, Bolton without insurance on October 19 this year.
That same he also obstructed a police officer in the execution of his duty.
Kay, of Mytham Road, Little Lever, was banned from driving for six months, given six notional penalty points and fined £120.
Drug test
A man was fined after missing a drug test appointment.
Allan Michael Bolton, 44, admitted to Stockport Magistrates Court that he had failed to attend Bolton Probation Office for a planned drug test appointment on May 27 this year.
This was in breach of his post custodial supervision requirements.
Bolton, of Lindfield Drive, Bolton, was fined £50 and ordered to pay costs of £60.
Driving without licence
A man was banned and fined after driving without a proper licence.
Reece Richards, 24, admitted to Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court that he had driven a Toyota RAV4 on Manchester Road, Kearsley without a proper licence on May 15 this year.
On May 15 he had also been driving without insurance.
Richards, of Clarke Way, Watford, was banned from driving for six months, fined £576 and ordered to pay costs of £85.
Cocaine and cannabis
A man was fined for possession of cocaine and cannabis.
Dylan Wood, 27, indicated a guilty plea at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Cour to possession of cocaine on Bradshawgate, Bolton on September 21 last year.
He also indicated a guilty plea to possession of cannabis on the same day.
Wood, of Bradford Street, Bolton, was fined £120 for the cocaine and £40 for the cannabis and ordered to pay costs of £85.
Magistrates also ordered that the cocaine and cannabis be seized and destroyed.
Drug driving
A man was banned from the roads for drug driving.
Scott Tillott, 51, admitted to Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court that he had driven a Seat on Marsden Road, Bolton while over the legal limit for Benzoylecgonine.
This was on June 20 this year.
Tillot, of Mornington Road, Bolton, was banned from driving for 12 months and ordered to pay of £120 with costs of £85 and a surcharge of £48.
