‘Drink driving, waste, theft’: Six recent cases heard by magistrates

Drink driving
A man was banned from the roads after drink driving.
Liam Abbott, 37, admitted to Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court that he had driven an Audi on Chorley Old Road while over the legal limit for alcohol.
This was on June 14 this year.
Abbott, of Bentinck Street, Bolton was banned from driving for 12 months with a reduction period of three months if he completes a course by June 5 next year.
He was also fined £120 and ordered to pay costs of £85 with a surcharge of £48.
Waste
A man was fined after leaving waste on land without permission.
Adam Mohamed, 21, admitted to Blackburn Magistrates Court that he had caused eight black waste bags, cardboards and loose waste to be left on Chapel Place, Bolton.
This was on March 30, 2024.
Mohamed, of no fixed abode, was fined £120.
Theft from shop
A man was ordered to pay compensation after stealing from a branch of Home Bargains.
Sajjid Latif, 51, admitted to Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court that he stolen around £89.85 worth of Head and Shoulders shampoo from Home Bargains in Bolton.
This was on June 21 this year.
Latif, of Swinside Road, Bolton, was ordered to pay £89.85 compensation and was fined £80.
Theft from Primark
A man was fined after stealing from Primark.
Lee Brook, 41, admitted to Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court that he had stole four hooded jumpers from Primark in Bolton worth £64.
This was on November 6 this year.
Brook, of Grove Street, Bolton, was fined £50.
Suspended sentence
A man was fined after breaching the terms of his suspended sentence order.
Marius Kramarczyk, 42, admitted to Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court that he had failed to attend planned appointments at Bolton Probation Office.
He failed to attend on December 30, 2024 and January 9, 2025 and failed to provide reasonable excuses within the specified time limit.
This was in breach of a suspended sentence order handed down by the same court on May 24, 2024.
Kramarczyk, of Wilton Street, Bolton, was fined £100.
Driving ban
A man was banned from the roads and fined after drink driving.
Aadesh Kumar Patel, 28, admitted to Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court that he had driven a Toyota Yaris on Coe Street, Bolton while over the legal limit for alcohol.
This was on May 23 this year.
Patel, of Shillingford Road, Farnworth, was banned from driving for 18 months with a reduction period of 18 weeks if he completes a course by October 29 next year.
He was also fined £530 and ordered to pay costs of £85 with a surcharge of £212.
