2 injured in overnight Denver hit-and-run near Congress Park

Two people were injured in an overnight crash in Denver’s Congress Park neighborhood, police said early Monday morning.

The Denver Police Department first posted about the crash near East Eighth Avenue and Josephine Street at 1:34 a.m. Monday. The intersection is just west of Congress Park and south of Denver Botanic Gardens.

Police originally said three drivers were involved in the crash, with one driver leaving the scene and making it a hit-and-run. Officials later corrected that statement and said only two drivers were involved, both of whom remained on scene.

Paramedics took two people to the hospital with unknown injuries, but police did not specify which vehicles those people were in.

Additional information on the crash was not immediately available.
