Around 50 drivers stopped and arrest made as part of police traffic crackdown

The South Neighbourhood Farnworth Team conducted the traffic operation in two areas of concern, which were highlighted by residents.

Police said “upwards of 50 vehicles were stopped”, with drivers being spoken to in relation to alleged speeding, mobile phone use and driving without seatbelts.

A total of 24 traffic offence reports were issued for a mixture of offences.

One arrest was made on suspicion of drug driving.

Traffic operations will continue throughout the Summer to address the concerns of residents, with the intention of making roads safer for all members of the public across Bolton.
