Stealing from a veteran

Kevin Derbyshire, 35, burgled the flat of a Royal Navy veteran at Constellation House late at night while the occupier was out on August 9 this year.
Bolton Crown Court heard how the woman, who was living there after having served in the navy, returned to find a record player, TV and other items stolen.
CCTV showed him and another man entering the flat, with around £900 worth of goods taken.
Man who attacked sister, leaving her with broken nose and cheekbone

Ryan Fleming, 22, headbutted his sister into the window, punched her in the face repeatedly and put his hands around her throat after she jokingly called him a woman beater.
Another sister who was also in the room tried to pull him away and their father had to intervene.
Following the attack, Fleming’s sister was left with a fractured cheekbone, broken nose and said she felt “heartbroken”.
Drug dealer caught with laughing gas and £10k debtors list

Jack Parr, 26, was arrested after a police raid in Westhoughton on June 4 last year when officers executed two search warrants.
Bolton Crown Court heard how officers found a “large quantity of cannabis” but that more was found when they carried out a more thorough search.
Around £12,400 in cash was found in the safe, which Parr claimed to the officers was for “house savings”.
Fraudster fled the country to Tenerife after stealing nearly £300k

Pamela Gwinnett, 62, used threats, bullying and false allegations to keep Joan Green under her control, get herself made power of attorney and steal from her.
Preston Crown Court heard how this caused not only financial but emotional devastation for Mrs Green and her loved ones just before her death.
The court heard how Gwinnett, originally employed simply for light cleaning and shopping tasks, acted as Mrs Green’s friend to get closer to her and ultimately isolate her.
Dealer ran from police with cash ‘falling out of his pocket’

Adil Ali, now 27, was caught out by police on patrol on Somerset Road in Bolton back in July 2023.
More than two years on, Bolton Crown Court heard how he had been a passenger in a car that tried to make off from the chasing officers.
When he was found, Ali was found to have been carrying wraps, cash and a burner phone as well as the keys to a different car.
Calling officers ‘rapists’ and exposed himself

Omar Derbal, 36, was arrested with a screwdriver in his hand after an incident on Battenburg Road in Halliwell on May 2 this year.
Bolton Crown Court heard how the incident started when another man had been at home with friends that night when he saw Derbal had somehow got into his home.
On being arrested he was taken into the back of a police van and took down his trousers, exposed himself and according to Ms Alton “performed a sexual act”.
Stalker ‘effectively blackmailed’ woman and sexually assaulted her

Paul Keevil, aged 56, carried out a campaign of harassment against the woman over a seven month period.
Keevil threatened that he would tell her family that she had been a sex worker, which was untrue, before telling her employer the same thing, something which could have risked her losing her job.
But he told her that he would stop the threats if she would get involved in an intimate relationship with him.
The cousins who raped teenage girls in the 1990s

Imtiaz Ali, 53, and Manzorr Hussain, 54, groomed teenage girls with alcohol and drugs in the 1990s before raping and sexually assaulting them.
They have both been convicted of the offences which took place between 1996 and 1999, when the victims were aged between 13 and 16.
Ali and Hussain, who are cousins, both ran market stalls at the time, which was how they first came into contact with some of the girls.
