The winter illumination festival will take place between November 20 to 23, from 5pm each night.

Bolton Central Library and Museum has also announced it will once again be a venue for the event.

Luke Jerram’s Mars will be suspended in Bolton Central Library and the children’s activities will take place in Bolton Museum.

This will mark the festival’s third year in operation and hundreds of people regularly attend to see the magnificent displays. Some are back by popular demand and others are new.

More details about the event will be revealed close to the time.

Last year’s event was held in December after initially being postponed due to Storm Darragh.

The free, family-friendly cultural exhibition drew crowds of all ages, with its magical performances and exhibitions created by world-renowned artists to celebrate Bolton’s year as Greater Manchester Town of Culture.

Hundreds of people flocked to the town centre to see the displays despite the heavy rain and enjoyed food from vendors and the market hall.

A spokesperson for the event said: “Save the date: The festival will run from the 20th – 23rd of November from 5-9pm each night!

“We are excited to announce that we have confirmed a number of fabulous artworks! Some are back by popular demand whilst others are brand new.

“Join us in Bolton Town Centre for a dazzling array of light art.”
