Bolton Food and Drink Festival 2023: What you can expect to pay

Bolton Food and Drink Festival is back in town, with visitors and stalls from across the UK convening on the town for a weekend of bank holiday fun.

With celebrity chef appearances, live music and around 180 stalls to peruse, the festival offers a wide variety of things to do for all the family.

But, as the name suggests, the food and drink is the main attraction – so how much can punters expect to be paying? We took a look at some of the stalls in town to see the cost of the fare.

Firstly, Salt and Pepper: salt and pepper chicken, salt and pepper chips, and onions and mixed peppers will set you back £9.50, while just the salt and pepper chicken with the onions and mixed peppers is £7.50.

Also available is just salt and pepper chips for £4.50, just chips for £3.50, as well as bottled water and cans of drink costing £1.50.

Elsewhere, The Chaat Walas offers either keema fries or chicken chaat and chips for £9 each. A samosa chaat costs £7.50, a vada pav £4, and both daha puris and bhel puris are £6 each.

They also offer a corn chaat for £3 and a drink of mango lassi for £4.

Rolla Walla offer either a chicken tikka, shish kebab or falafal wrap for £7. There are also samosa chaats on offer for £4 and a bhaji bowl for £3.

Other options at the stall include a rice box for £8 or a mix box for £9, as well as cans and water for £1.

All Nations offers a wide variety of options, including curried mutton, curried goat or stewed lamb with rice or cous cous in two sizes, costing £6 for small and £8 for large.

Other offers of a £6 small dish and £8 large dish at the stall include sweet or curried chicken, jerk chicken and sauce with rice or cous cous, and “stewed mush and veg” with rice or cous cous.

Alternatively, those who fancy a bit of variety can have “a bit of everything” for £9.50. Smaller dishes like a lamb or vegetable patty for £2.50 (£3 with salad) and sweet dumplings for £1.50 (£2 with salad) are also available. 

At the Beer Truck Bar, a pint of Ossett Brewery YON Lager will cost you £5, as will a pint of Sheppy’s 200 Special. 

Both Jute Session IPA and Sheppy’s Raspberry cost £5.50 a pint. 

Plenty of other stalls are also at the festival, so make sure to get down there and have a look yourself.
