Bolton: Police appeal for hep after golden chain stolen from woman

The victim had been walking down the street when two people approached her.

A man then tried to snatch her handbag before stealing a golden chain.

The robbery took place on Market Street in the town centre at around 3.30pm on August 9 this year.

Police have now launched an appeal for members of the public who may have witnessed this incident to come forward with information.

A police spokesperson said: “Please call 101 quoting log number 2832-10082023.”

Police have recently sought to assure people that everything is being done to prevent robberies, burglaries and shoplifting in the town centre.

Last month officers stepped up overnight patrols as part of an effort to combat these crimes.

And last year Operation Overspill aimed to deal with crime in the town centre leading to 50 arrests being made.
