Bolton: Volkswagen driver ‘banned twice’ gave ‘positive drugs test’

Traffic officers say the way the Volkswagen Golf was being driven as well as “recent intel”  led them to pulling over the vehicle.

Police said the driver had been twice banned from the roads was this time suspected of driving under the influence of drugs.

A  spokesman for GMP Traffic said: “The driver had been banned twice before, a quick swish of our road test confirmed that he’s well on his way for a third ban.

“The driver was arrested (on suspicion) for drug driving.”

Under UK road traffics laws someone who drives under the influence of drugs can be banned from the roads for up to a year.
