M60: Vehicles seized after drivers pulled over on motorway

A van was stopped by Greater Manchester Police (GMP) yesterday (Wednesday June 15) who were out on patrol.

Police say that following checks carried out the driver was found to have no insurance.

The vehicle has since been seized and the driver was given a Traffic Offence Report.

A spokesperson for North West Motorway Police said: “Vehicle Stopped on the M60 by one of our GMP Patrols.

“Checks reveal the driver had no insurance.

“Vehicle seized and driver issued a Traffic Offence Report.”

The Bolton News:

A car was also asked to pull over on to the hard shoulder on the M60 after insurance showed the driver was reportedly driving someone else’s vehicle.

This has also been seized and the driver has been reported.

The Bolton News:

A spokesperson for GMP Traffic said: “Having ‘Fully Comprehensive’ insurance doesn’t guarantee you are allowed to drive other vehicles.

“It is something you will often need to add.

“This driver found out the hard way earlier today on the M60.

“Relatives vehicles seized, and driver reported.”

This comes following concerns about anti-social driving and crime on the motorways across Bolton and elsewhere across the Greater Manchester city region.
