Last week, I went to Paris with female friends, and here are a few photos, if you’d like to see…

We felt so lucky to be able to take a break from work/parenting/life and soak up the city. We took looooong walks around town, punctuated by coffees and tiny beautiful eclairs.

We scored on our Airbnb, a gorgeous apartment in the 11th arrondissement. You can book a two-bedroom flat, a five-bedroom flat (which we did), or both together for a total of seven bedrooms.

This balcony sign made me laugh. Noted!

Our favorite meal was at Mokonuts, a tiny lunch restaurant run by a husband-and-wife team, Moko Hirayama and Omar Koreitem, whose young daughter happened to be chomping on a leg of lamb when we arrived. (Moko explained that the schools were on strike.)

I mean!!!! The flavors exploded, and I especially loved the pillowy gnocchi with mussels.

We also fell hard for the 11th arrondissement, which felt neighborhoody yet current, and was peppered with lots of cool cafés, restaurants, and shops. If you have a chance to stay there, definitely do!

My honorary niece (left, my wedding flower girl!) and her two friends joined us from England, bringing fun giggly vibes and intel on college life these days. One night, we all played a HILARIOUS game of Celebrity (have you played it?). The game includes three rounds: 1) you can use any words to describe the celebrities, 2) you can use only one word, and 3) you do charades. But we also added a fourth: 4) charades but under a throw blanket. Still makes me laugh just thinking about it.

Lastly, I promised to report back on street style, and mostly I was amazed by how many head-to-toe black outfits we spotted. Think: black scarf, black jacket, black shirt, black jeans, black socks, black shoes. Like, Sprockets but make it French?

Of course, the magic was in the details, like soft, drapey leather jackets

…chunky lug-sole boots or loafers

…and all sorts of chunky and thin scarves, sometimes even two layered together. (Parisians be Parisians.)
