Paddy McGuinness took Ronaldinho, Cafu and Dida to Greggs in Knutsford

Paddy McGuinness once appeared in an advert for the northern bakery in 2007.

And this week he has revealed he took three Brazilian legends to the store when he was taking part in Soccer Aid.

The television host and comedian appeared on the Stick to Football Show alongside Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher, Roy Keane and Ian Wright.

As he joined the four he shared some of his experiences of being around footballers.

Paddy said he had an idea of footballers being extremely professional but turned up at a Manchester United event to find Ole Gunnar Solskjær heading a light (hanging from the ceiling).

He also shared stories from his time working with Soccer Aid.

He said: “I absolutely loved it, we stopped at Knutsford Services and I took Ronaldinho, Cafu and Dida to a Greggs.

“We were in some place in Chelsea… I get a tap on the shoulder, it’s Prince Harry and he goes ‘I want to go to Fernando’s.

“He was there all night, he was getting involved, he was on the Jagerbombs.

“That’s just Soccer Aid for you.

“I remember again I was at Fulham I went in for a shower after training, he (Roy Keane) is in there on his own.

“I took in every sud on this warrior’s body.

“The amount of money Unicef has raised for those games, you have such a good time, it’s win win.”

Paddy was in fine form as he hosted the quiz and could not resist a gentle dig at Carragher as he asked the team of Wright and Keane who had scored more goals.

He said: “We are not including own goals as Carragher is ahead of Haaland in that.”

At the end of the quiz it was the unusual combination of Keane and Wright who were declared the winners.

Earlier this month Paddy visited a Homeless Aid Christmas Party in Bolton.

The Bolton born funnyman celebrated his fiftieth in the town this year.
