The Blundell Arms Pub, Bolton, reopens after transformation

The Blundell Arms, a Grade II listed building, closed in October for a huge refurbishment, inside and outside.

A special preview evening was held on Friday, with Bolton comedian Dave Spikey cutting the  ribbon with general manager Matthew Adderley.

It opens to the public today.

Matthew said: “I am very proud to manage the Blundell Arms and have enjoyed watching the pub transform over the last few weeks to make it better than ever.

“With the pub having so many traditional features, we wanted to make sure we combined these with a much more contemporary look and feel to give our guests the best of both worlds when they step through our doors.

“We look forward to welcoming people, but old and new, back to enjoy their new surroundings inside, as well as the new garden terrace and soak in the stunning views of Lancashire.”

The pub is part of the Chef and Brewer Collection of country pubs and the transformation is said blend the traditional with the contemporary.

The inside of the pub has been redecorated, with new flooring, furnishings and fittings designed to create a more ‘vibrant setting’, while still keeping the more traditional features intact to maintain the cosy, traditional pub atmosphere.

Another fireplace has also been added.

The picturesque garden terrace has been landscaped to create a bigger, tiered space including a covered and heated seating area, allowing guests to enjoy al fresco dining all year round.

The Blundell Arms will be extending their breakfast offering from two to seven days a week, 9.30am-11.30am.

As a Grade II listed building and former courthouse which is more than 100 years old, The Blundell Arms is a historical cornerstone of the local community and the perfect spot for guests to relax and enjoy a premium, relaxing dining experience.

Situated on the doorstep of Rivington Pike in the Lancashire countryside, it is popular with walkers, families, couples and friends.
