Second Legacy Lunker caught in Millwood Lake Southwest Arkansas Radio

An Arkansas Legacy Lunker was caught last week at Millwood Lake, located between Ashdown and Hope. It marks the second largemouth bass exceeding 10 pounds landed from the lake during the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Legacy Lunker Program donation period.

Justin Rogers landed the fish, which weighed 10.36 pounds, qualifying it as an official Legacy Lunker.

The first Legacy Lunker recorded at Millwood this season was caught Jan. 16, when Jeff Pate reeled in an 11.10-pound largemouth bass.

After catching his fish and confirming it exceeded 10 pounds on his scale, Rogers immediately contacted the Legacy Lunker hotline to report the catch. The fish was later verified by Eric Naas at Yarborough Access on Millwood Lake. It was then transported to the Joe Hogan State Fish Hatchery, where it joins 15 other official entries in the program.

For donating the fish, Rogers will receive a replica mount to commemorate the catch and will be entered for a chance to win a fully rigged X21 Pro Xpress Boat.

The largest Legacy Lunker recorded during this year’s program was caught Feb. 1 at DeGray Lake. Angler Levi Loe landed that fish, which weighed 12.63 pounds.
