Govt deploying AI to combat fraud

Thailand is deploying artificial intelligence and advanced data-sharing platforms to combat online scams, human trafficking, and cross-border fraud.

Central to this push is the Royal Thai Police’s SHIELD database, which links cross-border financial and intelligence data to freeze illicit funds, track suspects, and dismantle transnational syndicates alongside the Anti-Cyber Scam Centre (ACSC), government spokeswoman Rachada Dhnadirek said.

Additionally, the government is rolling out AI-powered surveillance through the Intelligent Bird Eye Operation Centre (IBOC) to improve real-time incident detection in key economic and tourist zones.

By combining international intelligence sharing with smart ground-level monitoring, officials aim to drastically curb financial losses from scams and boost safety confidence for residents and tourists alike.
