Motorcyclist’s shooting spree killed innocent teacher, injured another

AYUTTHAYA: A 35-year-old motorcyclist was arrested in Lat Bua Luang district late Sunday morning after indiscriminately firing his gun at innocent people, killing a teacher who had two daughters in her car and injuring another driver.
According to media reports, the male gunman was identified only as Sarawoot, a native of Lam Luk Ka district in adjacent Pathum Thani province. Police found three speed pills in his possession.
Before the shooting, his motorcycle fell on a road parallel to the Klong Phaya Muang canal in tambon Phraya Ban Lue. He got up, drew his 9mm pistol and repeated gunshots at motorists who were passing on the road.
One of his shots hit a 44-year-old mother who was driving her car with two daughters and her uncle inside. The woman was seriously wounded and pronounced dead later at a hospital. She was identified as Papasara Ruangrit, a teacher at Watsukantaram School in Wang Noi district of Ayutthaya.
The gunman also injured a truck driver who needed four stitches in his right arm.
